The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club has been a client of Golf Business Advisors since 1993.  GBA has assisted The Golden Horseshoe with many aspects of the Club to include membership marketing and  membership offering refinement in coordination with the resort spa opening, in addition to, resort and daily fee golf marketing.

The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club is owned and operated by the Resort Collection of Colonial Williamsburg, the hospitality division of the not-for-profit entity Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.  The Golden Horseshoe boasts 36 holes of championship golf and a 9-hole Par Three course.

In the resort golf marketing arena, GBA has guided The Golden Horseshoe in a variety of strategies to increase golf play from resort and conference guests.  These strategies have included:

  • improved in-room golf collateral
  • check-in collateral
  • golf training for reservationists, concierge, conference sales and service staffs, and bell staffs
  • assisted in the development of call to action ads for golf packages in national publications
  • assisted in the development of email communications prior to arrival to encourage tee time reservations
  • developed in-house promotions to encourage additional golf play

As it relates to daily fee marketing, GBA assisted in the following ways:

  • ad development and placement in the local market
  • increased email marketing and database development
  • developed a monthly e-newsletter
  • developed promotions to encourage local timeshare play
  • developed local promotions to increase play during historically slow times
